Police arrested a 35-year-old man after a shooting incident near Chris Brown’s home in the Tarzana area of Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded around 4:11 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Authorities said the incident happened on the street near the property, not inside Brown’s home.
Police said the suspect allegedly fired a CO2-style handgun at a woman’s vehicle during a dispute. The weapon was described as air-powered, not a traditional firearm.
The suspect was taken into custody and booked at the Van Nuys Station. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Reports also listed vandalism in connection with the case.
Authorities said Brown was not involved in the incident. It was not immediately clear whether he was home when it happened.
No further details about injuries were confirmed. Representatives for Brown had not issued a public comment at the time of the report.
